12:30 p.m. - 12:40 p.m.   Welcome Message
12:40 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. The Future of Open Source
Open source software development and consumption is a mixed bag. On one hand it's full of opportunity and innovation with a dash of reality; on the other it is steeped in economic uncertainty, heightened security and compliance issues, and a never ending list of complex problems to solve. To some, it could appear like the wild west of the technology landscape so join us as we discuss the current state of open source, trends we see and where we think the future is headed.
1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.  The Enterprise's Guide to Open Source Database Solutions: Possibilities, Risks, and Success Stories
Selecting, testing, migrating, and implementing a new database to replace a proprietary, licensed version of open source software is a difficult task. Percona’s Solutions Engineering team will share its proven methodology through real-world success stories with deep insight into objectives, challenges, architectures, migration paths, and future vision enjoyed by those who have migrated to open source software to break free of Enterprise licensed versions. This talk will focus on specific success stories in the real-world to share insights gained.
1:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.   *Break*
1:45 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.

Fireside Chat with Percona Customer

2:15 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. Running MongoDB in the Cloud: How to Reduce Infrastructure Costs Using Open Source Components and Kubernetes
The cost of running a growing enterprise-grade MongoDB environment can quickly get out of control. Costs can rapidly increase to cope with your scaling requirements, regardless of whether you are running a DBaaS or on-premise solution. To make things worse, there are multiple traps awaiting. Choices that seem to be initially not important may make a significant difference at scale. In this session, we'll have a look at typical reasons for this and discuss efficient alternatives built on open source and cloud-native technologies.
2:45 p.m. - 3:20 p.m. PostgreSQL Versus MySQL — What Are the Real Differences?
MySQL and PostgreSQL are open source databases that, from a very high viewpoint, seem to do the same thing.  However, subtle and non-subtle differences can severely impact your project. There are features missing in one that are in the other (JSON_TABLE() and MERGER(), for example) that will change the way you handle your data. Administration for either database needs special skills, and backups can potentially cause you great angst. So how do you pick ‘THE ONE’ for your needs? Where are the pain points that you need to avoid? This session explores the differences between MySQL and PostgreSQL so you can make an informed decision for your business.
3:20 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.   Financial Services and Open Source Software
The financial industry has embraced open source software as a core component on how its internal infrastructure and products are built and consumed. According to the FINOS 2023 State of Open Source in Financial Services Report 90% of respondents agree that open source is valuable to the future of the financial services industry, and 78% agree that their organizations are getting more value from open source compared to 2022. To help better understand the importance and nuances of open source in financial services we have an esteemed panel of industry experts to explore the topic: Jane Gavronsky, COO of FINOS, FINOS board member Aric Rosenbaum, Chief Technologist on Red Hat’s Global FSI team and Bennie Grant, COO of Percona. Join us as we discuss compliance, security, cost benefits and more.
3:45 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. *Break*
